Version R10. Release Date 6/27/20
This month’s release delivers enhancements that make flexibility and mobility even easier to manage for employees, and a first-of-its kind ability to manage access to rooms.
Reserved Room Access via QR Code Scanner
This feature literally opens doors for our customers! Forum can now manage access to a
room, unlocking the door only for a reservation owner or guest by use of a simple QR code.
For rooms with a scanner-enabled door lock system, Forum will send a QR code in an email
to the reservation owner, who can then scan it to unlock the door for the reservation.
This is a great feature for landlords allowing tenants access to space amenities, or organizations who wish
to control access to specific rooms for security or any other reason.
"My Status Message"
“My Status” enables users to enter a status message so coworkers can quickly see if they’re working from home or a client site, in a space they don’t usually work, celebrating a win or simply have something to share. Status messages are visible in search results, My Team tiles, and profile screens. Just click on the user’s name in the upper right and type in the My Status field.
With so many organizations allowing more and more Work from Home, this is a great way for employees to quickly see where their colleagues are working and provides one more place for employees to stay connected, even if just through a short status update. This feature also encourages more interaction with the system for increased user adoption.
Reservations & Assets included in “Search for Person”
Search for Person now includes results for reservations and assets, so users can access the information they need more quickly and directly. Additionally, the new status messages are visible in the search results view.
Cancel Blocks of Time during Recurring or No End Date Reservations
One new enhancement in Forum makes it easy to track utilization more accurately for Recurring or No End Date Reservations by allowing users to cancel one or multiple periods of time. For example, users may now cancel vacation or holiday time for the rest of the year, even if the reservation has not started yet.
Cisco Phone Switching
Phone switching is here! For organizations using Cisco Unified Communications Manager, individual phone profiles can automatically be moved to the phone in a reserved workspace. When a reservation is active, the phone is switched on with the profile of the reservation owner. For organizations reliant on phone extensions for employees, this makes flexibility achievable.
Change Reservation Owner
Users can now be given access to change the reservation owner within the reservation details screen. There is no need to cancel and start from scratch if the remainder of a reservation should belong to a different person.
Default Floorplan View
Within asset details and reservation details pages, the default view now shows the floor plan rather than a Google map. Users will still be able to access the live Google Maps view by clicking the icon located directly below the floorplan view.
Streamlined Email User Experience
The Reservation Emails have been updated for clearer content and unification with Forum’s style
